Amy L. Ignash
Attorney
Amy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Geography from
Central
Michigan
University in 1997 and her Juris Doctorate from the
Thomas
M.
Cooley
Law
School, where she graduated cum laude, in 2004. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 2004. She joined Shinners & Cook in 2006, where she is focused on estate planning.
“In law school, I had the opportunity to work with a clinic that provided pro bono estate planning services to the elderly,” Amy says. “The work touched me, and it has been the most rewarding experience of my career thus far. When the opportunity came to return to that area of the law, I was eager to pursue it."
“I know firsthand how the lack of planning can affect a family. The aging process is not only difficult on the oldest generations, but also on the younger generations they leave behind. I derive a lot of satisfaction from easing that process for other families.”
In addition to her work at Shinners & Cook, Amy enjoys hiking, camping, and horseback riding.
