Genevieve “Jenny” Nowak Certified Legal Assistant
Jenny received her certification from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies in 1988. She was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan as a member of the Legal Assistants Section in 1998, and she received her Certified Legal Assistant Certificate from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) in 2001. Jenny joined Shinners & Cook in 1979, and focuses on real estate and business.
“I’m especially fond of a quote by baseball great Steve Garvey,” says Jenny. “Garvey once said, ‘The difference between the old ballplayer and the new ballplayer is the jersey. The old ballplayer cared about the name on the front. The new ballplayer cares about the name on the back.’ At Shinners & Cook, our primary concern is always the name on the front… our client.”
In addition to her work at Shinners & Cook, Jenny enjoys the joys and challenges of parenting her son. She cherishes their life in the midst of a farming community, where she cultivates both flower and vegetable gardens. Jenny describes herself as ‘a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan.’ She also takes an avid interest in the ongoing conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
