Thomas A. Basil, Jr. Managing Attorney, Shareholder, Attorney
Tom received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1991, where he was a member of the Law Review. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and Wisconsin in 1991. Tom joined Shinners & Cook in 1991, and focuses on business transactions, business formations, real estate, and employment law.
Tom says, “Growing up with three brothers meant an argument is simply another form of communication; and every aspect of life is a form of competition – eating breakfast is competitive. We work with people during some of the most stressful times in their lives,” he continues. “We are asked to work with people and problems that others are incapable or unwilling to handle themselves. We get paid to do it, we enjoy what we do, and we serve our clients well. How cool is that?”
In addition to his work at Shinners & Cook and his extensive volunteer activities, Tom enjoys hunting, golfing, and reading. He is also a licensed real estate broker.
